You'll intuitively know that stress and trauma show up in the body.
We hold tension in our shoulders when we're carrying a lot. Our heartrate increases when we're anticipating something nerve-wracking. Our breath becomes shorter when we're overwhelmed.
When we've experienced trauma or stress over a long period, these signs become our normal, and they add up.
Therapeutic yoga uses the body, breath and yogic ideas to build flexibility in your nervous system. Over time this practice can help you befriend your body, attending to your emotions and sensations.
